Today we have a Serenism AND a Penny Thought

Today's Serenism:

Mike points to the salsa Seren dripped onto the crotch of her pants and comments: "Uh-oh, we need to change her pants, Hon."  Seren says, "Why? I just gassed...It WASN'T a wet one..."

Today's Penny Thought:

Penny was treasure hunting in my purse and found a "sanitary napkin."  She unwrapped the "present", handed it to me, and said, "Here you go, sticker!!!"  I can envision giving these kids of stickers out as rewards and the kids sticking them all over the windows on my car just like they do the other fun stickers...

Today's Serenism...

...so far, at least, involves a bagel and cream cheese.  We have the privilege of having our niece over and I served pizza bagels with cream cheese for breakfast.

I hear my niece ask Seren: "How did you get cream cheese on your nose?"  Seren looked dumfounded at first, then she proceeded to lift up the bagel and wipe more cream cheese on her nose.  I'm sure my niece's intention was to motivate Seren to wipe it off her nose, not to wipe more on.  Well, she DID ask HOW it got on her nose.  It makes sense that Seren would give her a direct answer to that question :)

We are at the assembly today and will be tomorrow also...

... Why must I always have to remind Seren to stay away from the hose in the middle of the picnic area??? There is no telling WHAT would happen if I didn't...

An argument between my kids...

...Oops! I meant DISCUSSION, lol.  My 8 year old (Evy) and 4 year old (Seren) were arguing over this big huge caterpillar their Grandma Sheri bought them because it's big enough for them all to sleep with.

This is what I hear while I am in the other room:

Evy: Seren! Why should YOU always have the head? Do you think you are more special???

Seren: No, I'm not more special.  I just want to be more true, so I should have the head.

Evy: Well, whoever is more true gets the butt! (Life lessons never more truly spoken by an 8 year old).  So, you get the butt because you're more true and Penny and I will get the head because it's brain vomit.

Seren: I'm ok with being brain vomit...

Today's Serenism...

...really isn't TODAY's Serenism.  It's more like a Serenism that happened awhile ago but came and bit me in the butt today.

Here I am, digging through a dresser drawer that I keep my business-sized envelopes in so I can mail something out and they  are all SEALED!!! Yes, carefully licked and sealed.  All of them.

WHEN did this happen??? I couldn't tell you.  I rarely ever get in there to get an envelope, so I'm guessing that some time when Seren was supposed to be taking a nap in my room, she was actually getting a high off of glue instead.

Frustrating, but lol anyways.  Gotta love that girl.

Serenisms

I have two Serenisms to share with you.  First, you may ask, what is a "Serenism?"  A Serenism is what our second child, Serenity (who goes by Seren) says.  Generally, her comments reflect her blunt, yet comical perspective on life.  However, Serenisms aren't limited to just what she says, sometimes a Serenism is what she does.

We had a new baby this past week and I came home from the hospital on Friday.  Well, this is the first boy in our family and we chose to have him circumcised.  My husband was changing the baby's diaper and Seren saw the circumcision.  She inquired about it and Mike explained how the procedure was done.  Seren says, "I used to have one until they cut it off, right Daddy?"  Mike says, "No, you never had one Seren.  Only boys have those and girls don't."  Seren, "Do you have one, Daddy?"  Yes, Seren...

Then this morning, I was taking Xander to the Doctor for his check up.  Seren asks, "Is he going to get shots?"  Me, "No, Seren, they're going to make sure he's eating good.  They're going to measure him and weigh him--"  "--And cut more off of his pee-pee?!" Seren asks.  No, Seren...

I do just love this child...

Seren wrote a letter:

It says: "Dear Xander, Please come out now.  If you want to kick out, then Mommy will go to the Doctor."
