Last night's Serenism is brought to you by Psalm 26:2.

I was explaining the use of "heart" and "kidneys" and the implications of each to Seren...

Mommy:  Seren, do you know what the heart does?
Seren: It beats and helps us stay alive.
Mommy: And when it beats, what is it pushing through our bodies so we can stay alive?
Seren: Air!
Mommy: Air...ok, and what else?
Seren: And blood!  The heart pushes the blood, which carries the air from our own gills, I mean lungs, through our body...
Mommy thinks to self: (how many sci-fies has she been watching???)

Just after I explained how the kidneys work, Seren went on to explain how red cells and white cells in the blood work.

This is my 6 year-old.  I'm not looking forward to her becoming a teenager. *sigh*
